this is Megan from the 80's My Little Pony shows/movies. Yeah, I know MLP probably doesn't count as a magical girl show by most peoples accounts.
BUT! She wields a locket filled with rainbows to defeat villains and protect a land filled with magical overly-cutesy colorful animals.
If that doesn't fit the magical girl trope, then I don't know what does.
